GT Pro Freestyle Tour Frame Set – Details
Another unfinished project… 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour frame and forks, handle bars, seat post and decals. Decals are reproductions from AJK and the other parts were all superbly powder coated in the correct colour blue by Roberto from Robertos Custom Powder. So you know the quality is there and you can still see all the stampings etc.
990 mounts and the bottom bracket brake mount are in good condition. Dropouts aren’t chewed and the serial number and GT logos are still visible on the dropouts and top tube platform. The 4130 stamping is also there so this is a full chromoly frame and not the cheaper Performer model dressed up as a Pro Performer.
Wasn’t game to apply the decals myself so I’ll leave that up to the new owner.
Only downside is a small ding on the left chain stay just before the drop out. No idea why I didn’t get this fixed before having it refinished and can only guess that I didn’t notice it. Most likely from the frame standers so once you mount these it might not be visible any way.
Serial number is 5870093 and the FS marking is also evident.
Forks are in good condition and dropouts are clean, along with the thread at the top.
Handle bars are uncut and you can see the length in the photo.
Seat post is a lay back GT post.
I’ve left Melbourne so these are in storage again. Send a message in the form below if you are interested to know when they will be available.
