Hutch Pro Racer Frame And Forks – Details
Up for sale is an original finish Hutch Pro Racer frame and forks. Hutch were know for the quality of their chrome and this one is no exception. It has held up very well over the years. As you can see in the photos, there’s no rust, pitting or other issues common to some of the other BMX frame sets of this era.
No serial number on this one and the forks do have the hole for the front brake caliper. I can’t remember all the intracies of dating Hutch Pro Racer frames and forks these days. There was something about the holes near the drop out too.
Speaking of dropouts, yes there are some marks where wheels have been mounted, however, considering how thin they are, there’s no sign of them being chewed up from over tightening. Forks are the same.
Brake bridge, seat post clamp area, and all the other places that can have problems are all in good condition.
Decals are original or at least replaced by the owner back in the day. Who knows? Suffice to say they are not recent reproductions. The Pro Racer ones on the seat stays are lifting a bit at the edges. The forks have a few marks as is usual. Otherwise they are in good iriginal survivor condition.
Also comes with the MX-2 or Beartrap headset. I’ve been out of the same for so long and this has been sitting in a box for over a decade so the memory is a bit faded.
This was the first frame and forks I bought when I stumbled back in to the old school BMX scene. If only all the framesets I bought had been in good condition like this one.
