California Lite BMX Padset – Details
Black California Lite BMX padset for sale. California Lite pads were the ones to have when I was racing. So much lighter than the Rad Pads!
I had these on my Hutch Pro Racer replica build and whilst I actually ran the similar Haro pads on that bike, the printing peeled off those if you look at them sideways, so the chance of finding a set proved impossible.
I compromised with these black California Lite pads instead. Besides, I also upgraded the cranks from Sugino one piece that I could afford back then to the Redline 401s that I could now afford.
The set consists of the large frame pad, v-bar handlebar pad and stem pad. The v-bar pad on a straight cross bar worked much better in my opinion as it was slightly longer and matched the angle of the bars better.
The frame pad is slightly more worn that the other two. They were all bought separately and pretty sure the bar and stem pads were new old stock. I do remember the frame pad was the last part of the build so of course I paid a lot. The logo is a bit yellowed and just not quite as black. I have never tried to clean these for fear of losing the logos.
As shown in the photos, the stem pad is the reversible checker version.
These are NOT reproductions or re-issues and I have owned these since before the proliferation of repops of everything old school BMX.
